Islam and Christianity
Which is Superior?

For many followers of Islam, the matter is clear and self-evident - Islam is superior to Christianity. The justification for this attitude is clearly stated in the Holy Koran. Followers of Islam believe the Koran is a literal transcription of the word of God as revealed to the prophet Mohammed (click here for biography of Mohammed). For many followers of Christianity, the matter is equally clear and self-evident - Christianity is superior to Islam. Their justification is that the first prophet of Christianity, Jesus, was actually the son of God (click here for biography of Jesus). And as the son of God, the message of Jesus is clearly more accurate and superior to that of any subsequent mortal prophet such as Mohammed. So let us examine the holy texts of these religions to see if there is any justification for either of these attitudes. It is also worthwhile to examine some aspects of the prophets of these religions - Jesus and Mohammed. I will first begin with Jesus, the prophet of the Christian religion. (The reader should note that this article is a supplement to the many comparisons of the values of Islam and Christianity in the book called The Unholy Legacy of Abraham).

 

Jesus was a bastard Son of God!

I will begin with Christianity, because this religion predates Islam by about 600 years. The Holy Bible tells us that Jesus was the Son of God, a product of divine fertilization of the virgin Mary by God during the period she was betrothed to Joseph the carpenter.

This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit.
Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.
But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.
She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins." (Bible, Matthew 1:18-21)

This is a very clear passage. Jesus was a Son of God, conceived out of wedlock by Mary, his mother. Put simply, Jesus was a bastard son of God, conceived by Mary. Moreover, Jewish religious laws were very strict regarding consensual sex with betrothed free women, as is revealed by the following law of Moses.

If a man happens to meet in a town a virgin pledged to be married and he sleeps with her,
you shall take both of them to the gate of that town and stone them to death-the girl because she was in a town and did not scream for help, and the man because he violated another man's wife. You must purge the evil from among you. (Bible, Deuteronomy 22:22-23)

In other words, Mary should have been stoned to death together with God for their infamy. Mind-boggling stuff ... If we put this interesting legal point aside, we read that Joseph accepted the illegitimate child of Mary. But Jewish religious law, as handed down by the father of Jesus to the Jews was very strict regarding the rights of illegitimate children, otherwise known as bastards. Bastards and their children were not permitted to enter the temple until 10 generations had passed!

No one born of a forbidden marriage nor any of his descendants may enter the assembly of the LORD, even down to the tenth generation. (Bible, Deuteronomy 23:2)

This was a law handed down by God to Moses, and was binding upon all Jews. Jesus was a Jew as well as a first generation bastard, and we know he did enter the temple. Not only did he enter the temple, but we also read that stayed in the temple to argue and discuss religion with the priests there.

Every year his parents went to Jerusalem for the Feast of the Passover.
When he was twelve years old, they went up to the Feast, according to the custom.
After the Feast was over, while his parents were returning home, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but they were unaware of it.
Thinking he was in their company, they traveled on for a day. Then they began looking for him among their relatives and friends.
When they did not find him, they went back to Jerusalem to look for him.
After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions.
Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers. (Bible, Luke 2:41-47)

Strange indeed! Here you have a first generation bastard entering a place forbidden him by his father, who also happened to be the eternal, omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent creator of the whole universe. Not only did Jesus disobey God, he also preached against God, his father. Long before Jesus was conceived, God his father, had very clearly told the Jews they were his chosen people, and that only those who followed his path would attain heaven. But Jesus clearly stated that only those who followed his path, and believed in him (Jesus) would attain heaven.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. (Bible, John 3:16-18)

He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.
Whoever believes [in Jesus] and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned." (Bible, Mark 16:15-16)

So Jesus was a disobedient, illegitimate son of God, whom the Bible clearly reveals as usurping the prerogatives of his father by presuming to say who could, and who could not enter the Kingdom of Heaven! Such presumption! Would you trust such a man? After all we know that Jesus was telling a lie when he said he was the one and only Son of God, because the Bible clearly states that God had more than one son!

Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD. (Bible, Job 2:1)

All these things make the basis of Christianity very dubious, degrading it to the level of a mere sect founded by a lying illegitimate son of Mary, wife of Joseph the Carpenter. Followers of Islam revel and delight in such arguments, saying that this is further proof of the corrupt nature of the Bible as revealed in a passage in the book of Jeremiah in the same Christian Bible!

How can you say, "We are wise, for we have the law of the LORD," when actually the lying pen of the scribes has handled it falsely? (Bible, Jeremiah 8:8)

But are the holy texts of Islam any better, or more consistent than those of Christianity? Is Islam a better religion than Christianity?

 

Islam is just as untrustworthy as Christianity!

According to the followers of Islam, Mohammed was the last and most perfect prophet of God, and the Holy Koran is a literal transcription of the revelations of God to Mohammed. But are these revelations of God to Mohammed consistent? Is the Koran an internally consistent holy book? Can we trust the statements of Mohammed?

Some followers of Islam say that Islam is a religion tolerant of all other religions and religious practices, citing as proof the passage:

There is no compulsion in religion. The right direction is henceforth distinct from error. And he who rejecteth false deities and believeth in Allah hath grasped a firm handhold which will never break. Allah is Hearer, Knower. (Koran 2:256)

Of course, this passage expounds no more than the principle of belief in God as the right way, but the exact nature of the right way is still vague. Fortunately, other passages in the Koran are rather more specific. The God of Islam hates all poytheists, and especially hates Jews and Christians…

Lo! the worst of beasts in Allah's sight are the ungrateful who will not believe. (Koran 8:55)

The Jews call 'Uzair a son of Allah, and the Christians call Christ the son of Allah. That is a saying from their mouth; (in this) they but imitate what the unbelievers of old used to say. Allah's curse be on them: how they are deluded away from the Truth!
They take their priests and their anchorites to be their lords in derogation of Allah, and (they take as their Lord) Christ the son of Mary; yet they were commanded to worship but One Allah: there is no god but He. Praise and glory to Him: (Far is He) from having the partners they associate (with Him). (Koran 9:30-31)

Such statements about polytheists, Christians and Jews are repeated endlessly throughout the Koran (see also Koran 4:44-49). The revelations of God to Mohammed not only reveal that most Christians and Jews are wicked creatures hated by God, but also that God considers the Arabic peoples to be the best and most superior people upon the world…

Ye are the best of peoples, evolved for mankind, enjoining what is right, forbidding what is wrong, and believing in Allah. If only the People of the Book had faith, it were best for them: among them are some who have faith, but most of them are perverted transgressors. (Koran 3:110)

One reaction to such statements is simply the three letter word - wow! But instead of just surprise, we should also examine the Koran to find whether the revelations of God to Mohammed are the true revelations of God. After all, Mohammed lived 600 years after Jesus, and may actually have transmitted the true revelations of God. But then we read the following passages which destroy any such possibility.

We sent not a messenger except (to teach) in the language of his (own) people, in order to make (things) clear to them. Now Allah leaves straying those whom He pleases and guides whom He pleases: and He is Exalted in power, full of Wisdom. (Koran 14:4)

To Allah belongeth all that is in the heavens and on earth. He forgiveth whom He pleaseth and punisheth whom He pleaseth; but Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (Koran 3:129)

It is true thou wilt not be able to guide every one, whom thou lovest; but Allah guides those whom He will and He knows best those who receive guidance. (Koran 28:56)

In other words, God is the final arbiter, not Mohammed, nor anyone else. This immediately means that the revelations of the Koran are dubious, because only God can know the will of God, and states very specifically that all one can do is to believe in God. Moreover to pretend to know the will of God is a form of vile heresy…

Say: None in the heavens or on earth, except Allah, knows what is hidden: nor can they perceive when they shall be raised up (for Judgment). (Koran 27:65)

In other words, the holy books of Islam are just as untrustworthy as those of Christianity. This brings us to the malignant cancer gnawing at the hearts of both religions - their belief in the cancerous philosophy of predestination - a philosophy that actually sounds the death-knell of Christianity and Islam.

 

Predestination and the death of religion

As we have seen, the holy texts and prophets of both Islam and Christianity are unreliable as guides. Islam is no better than Christianity, and Christianity is no better than Islam. In chapter 11 of the book called The Unholy Legacy of Abraham you can read why the philosophy of predestination preached in the Bible, as well as in the Koran, reveals Christianity and Islam to be farces, no more than charades instituted by a an inconceivably mendacious and malignant God to drive as many souls as possible into hell where they can be tortured for all eternity!
